HIGH SCHOOL GRANTS-IN-AID

The Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science will award Grants-in-Aid in amounts up to $100 to students who are enrolled in a high school in Arizona or Nevada. The grant funds may be used only for activities and items directly associated with a proposed or ongoing scientific research project (equipment, purchases, supplies, travel to field sites, etc.). All grants and scholarships awarded by the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science are intended for the recipient only, and cannot be used for administrative or institutional services of any kind.

High school students receiving grants must agree to submit a report, not to exceed five (5) pages in length, to the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science after completion of the research or within one year after receipt of the grant, whichever comes first. This report must be in the format of the Journal of the Arizona-Nevada Academy of Science and will be considered for publication in the Journal. See the back inside cover of a recent issue of the Journal for a description of the format. If the report is published, the Academy will waive page charges. The Academy hopes to publish one or more of these papers each year.

Applications are due (postmarked) December 15th of each year. They will be reviewed by a committee of Academy members. Grants will be awarded in January.

Print the application below, fill out the appropriate information, and send five copies, all with a cover page, one page description and, letter of support from the student's high school teacher / sponsor to:
